All StepStones’ Corporate Volunteer Programs can include a tour of our office and youth space, a brief presentation on the challenges facing youth from the child welfare system, a question and answer session with one of our knowledgeable staff, and opportunities to meet some of the youth in our program

Opportunities Include:

Host a Memorable Evening: Step into the role of host for one of our weekly Tuesday Dinners where you’ll have the chance to create an unforgettable experience for the youth in our program. This opportunity allows your team to plan an engaging activity, sponsor the meal, and bring extra joy to our weekly gathering.

What your team will be doing: 

  • Plan the Activity:
    • Organize a fun and interactive activity for the evening such as team games, arts and crafts, or a workshop. Your creativity will help make the night unique.
  • Sponsor the Meal:
    • Provide and serve a delicious meal for all the youth attending. This could include a themed dinner, special treats, or a menu of your choice. If you can’t join us, you may also cover the costs for dinner and our team will take care of the rest!
  • Engage with Youth:
    • Spend time connecting with amazing young people by participating in the activity, chatting with groups, and creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

Details:

  • Where: Our office in Toronto – 700 Markham St, Toronto ON M6G.
  • Group Size: Flexible and must be discussed with our team.
  • Preparation Period: 4 weeks to plan the activity and arrange the meal.
  • Event Timing: One of our weekly Tuesday Dinners, occurring every Tuesday from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM. Meal and activity prepping usually begin at 4 PM.

Create Take-Home Packages: Perfect for school groups, corporate volunteers, faith-based organizations, and friends alike. Through our partnership with Kits For a Cause, donors can host their own kit-packing event and make a meaningful difference for many youths. These kits are crucial in supporting young people’s daily needs and ensuring they have the resources to succeed.

What Your team will do: 

  • Assembling Kits:
    • Put together various kits that may include hygiene products, school supplies, winter essentials, or snacks.
    • Customize kits with personal touches like encouraging notes or small gifts.
  • Organizing and Packing:
    • Sort items, organize them by category, and pack the kits efficiently for distribution.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all kits are complete and meet our quality standards before we distribute them to youth in our program.

Details:

  • Where: Our office in Toronto – 700 Markham St, Toronto ON M6G 2M3 OR at your own office or facility.
  • Group Size: Dependent on the quantity of kits being made.
  • Preparation Period: Kits For A Cause requires 4-6 weeks to coordinate the event and gather necessary supplies.
  • Event Duration: Dependent on the number of kits being built. Your team would work with Kits For A Cause to determine a time frame.
  • Cost associated with purchasing kit items will also be determined when working with the Kits For A Cause team.

StepStones & Kits For A Cause Program

Spread Holiday Cheer: Join us in hosting a memorable holiday dinner filled with delicious foods, refreshments and engaging activities for the youth in our program. This annual event is a cherished tradition where we bring everyone together for a festive and joyful evening. Our Holiday Dinner will be happening on Tuesday December 17th.

What you’ll be doing:

Group 1: Afternoon Preparation (12 – 4 PM):

  • Set up tables and chairs, decorate the space, and prepare the dinner.
  • Arrange gifts and festive décor to create a warm holiday atmosphere.

Group 2: Evening Service & Clean-Up (4 – 8 PM):

  • Serve dinner and drinks to our guests, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and cared for.
  • Assist with post-event clean-up, helping us return the space to its original condition.

Details:

  • Donating your time to supporting our team, donating decorations/materials, and donating food to be served in the evening are all welcome as well.
  • Where: Our office in Toronto – 700 Markham St, Toronto ON M6G 2M3.
  • Event Date: December 17, 2024.
  • Group Size: 10-15 people per shift.
    • Flexible Participation:
      • For large groups, teams can be split between the afternoon and evening shifts.
      • If your team prefers to volunteer for just one shift, that can be accommodated as well.
  • Preparation Period: 3-4 weeks minimum to coordinate your involvement.
  • Shift Options:
      • Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
      • Evening: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Make a Tangible Difference: Join us in updating our spaces to create welcoming and supportive environments for young people at our office. Your team will collaborate with us to identify current needs to ensure your efforts have meaningful impact. Ideal for teams looking to engage in hands-on activities that have a direct and visible impact.

Ideas of what your team can do: 

  • Painting & Decorating: Bring color and warmth to our spaces.
  • Furniture Construction: Help assemble and set up new furniture for our youth.
  • Organizational Tasks: Organize our food cupboards and storage areas to enhance functionality.
  • Creative Additions: Add your personal touch through decor and other creative projects.

  • Where: Our office in Toronto – 700 Markham St, Toronto ON M6G 2M3.
  • Group Size: Varies by project. Please inquire for an accurate estimate tailored to your team.
  • Preparation Period: Approximately 4-6 weeks notice required to coordinate and prepare.
  • Duration: Typically projects are completed in a single day unless otherwise determined by our engagement coordinator.
  • Costs for any materials that may be needed for the project will be determined after the initial inquiry is accepted.
